Hi - we are using Captura for the first time for our Fall Schools. We have previously used a pre-pay model but the trend was that parents would buy the cheapest package. Fair to say, we had very limited options in our old system. We tested Proofing in the Spring in Captura with great success. I know pre-pay is still very popular with studios and our schools are used to the pre-pay model. Seeing all the flexibility in how to create packages and products- packages, of course but now Build Your Own and Al La Carte), are there any stats or best strategies for the pre-pay model and tying to your price sheet?

We are currently using Shipstation. We do an order export from Captura then do an import into Shipstation. I had to map the different fields and save a pre set. What is everybody else doing if you are printing in house and mail? The export and import is no big deal. But Is there a more automated way to move the data over to the shipping program and a way to get that shipping data back into Captura. Thanks! Rich Banick

Howdy! On rare occasion, we do events where we take landscape and portrait photos. We've found that we need to keep "landscape" images incorrectly rotated into "portrait" orientation so that they print correctly with our partner labs. Obviously this is not a good customer experience, and we think we are missing something. Does anyone have any solutions or best practices on how to manage this - where orientation is presented properly, but prints are printed correctly? Thanks!

What new feature(s) launched this season helped your studio the most?

How does everyone handle the situation where you would like to offer discounts for second, third, and fourth children in the same household? Outside of sending individualized discount codes, I'm not sure what the best option would be?

The one thing I wish Captura's product designer had was the ability for basic design abilities. It's really hard to design useful products without the most basic features ; Drop shadow and Stroke. Type is so bad the designs look like they are from 1994 ( the year photoshop added drop shadow ) . I am hoping this software will catch up to the 90's some day....

Flip the narrative When a school provides email addresses, it is the most secure way for you to ensure that you deliver image galleries to the approved parent and guardians only. This should be a talk track with every school. As a studio, you don't want to have to be the one responsible for determining who should receive access to a gallery. It's a win win for everyone, because the schools have more control and we know that email addresses = revenue. Create a Parent Promise Have a parent promise available on your website that speaks to how you will contact parents with common sense and respect as well as a parents ability to opt out of communications at any time. How is everyone handling archiving galleries? Particularly in regards to customer support after the images are archived. We offer past years images at a higher price but we want customers to feel the urgency to buy it now and not wait. We would like for the galleries to have an "unlock/unarchive fee" but we also want to be able to place orders.
