      Pre-Pay strategies - any tips

Hi - we are using Captura for the first time for our Fall Schools. We have previously used a pre-pay model but the trend was that parents would buy the cheapest package. Fair to say, we had very limited options in our old system. We tested Proofing in the Spring in Captura with great success. I know pre-pay is still very popular with studios and our schools are used to the pre-pay model. Seeing all the flexibility in how to create packages and products- packages, of course but now Build Your Own and Al La Carte), are there any stats or best strategies for the pre-pay model and tying to your price sheet?

How to get Email Addresses from Schools

Flip the narrative When a school provides email addresses, it is the most secure way for you to ensure that you deliver image galleries to the approved parent and guardians only. This should be a talk track with every school. As a studio, you don't want to have to be the one responsible for determining who should receive access to a gallery. It's a win win for everyone, because the schools have more control and we know that email addresses = revenue. Create a Parent Promise Have a parent promise available on your website that speaks to how you will contact parents with common sense and respect as well as a parents ability to opt out of communications at any time. Know your stuff From the SPOA, Student Data Security in School Photography Explainer (found here: https://www.schoolphotographersofamerica.com/student-data-privacy-help) "Federal laws that govern student data in school photography FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) FERPA governs the disclosure and use of student education records. Under FERPA: • Schools may share limited directory information with authorized vendors acting on the school’s behalf • Vendors may use the data only for the contracted purpose • Unauthorized use or disclosure is a violation of federal law Photography companies operate as school officials with legitimate educational interest, as defined by district contracts. What other tactics do you use?

Increase AOV with the Candy Aisle: Up Your Revenue without Changing Pricing 💰

If you're a studio focused on n growth, AOV, or getting more out of the traffic you already have, this one is for you! Based on interim findings from the School Photography Industry Report, this article covers a simple way you can drive more revenue without changing your pricing. Learn more here . Most studios try to increase average order value by adding more products, redesigning packages, or adjusting pricing. That works, but it is slow. What we have seen across the Captura ecosystem is simpler. The biggest gains in AOV (average order value) often come from improving the moment customers are already buying. This is where the “Candy Aisle” approach comes in. It is not about changing your entire offering. It is about making better use of the cart. And the data backs it up.

Are You Leaving Money on the Table? Abandon Cart Campaigns Are Your Highest-Converting Tool

Picture day is done. Parents are busy. Life gets in the way and a full cart gets left behind. Abandon cart campaigns catch your hottest potential customers right when they're most likely to buy and bring them back to complete their order. They are our highest-converting email trigger type, and the numbers show it: 63% open rate 12% click-through rate 3%+ conversion rate $2+ revenue per email sent Studios using abandon cart are also seeing overall marketing lift: open rates up 2.6% and CTR 20% higher compared to studios not using it. Now we've made it even easier to drive revenue with auto-attach abandon cart. Instead of manually attaching a campaign to every job, auto-attach does it for you. Every new job is automatically connected to your abandon cart campaign the moment it's created. Whether you use our pre-built campaign or bring your own, it runs in the background and keeps revenue coming in all season long. No manual sends. No following up. If you're not already running auto-attached abandon carts reach out to our marketing team today to get set up. Are you currently running abandon cart campaigns? We'd love to hear what's working for your studio, whether it's timing, subject lines, or messaging. Drop your insights below.

      Sibling Package and Pricing Ideas

We currently offer a discount to families with siblings, but it usually requires them to order a package. I get a lot of parents that ask me to combine the sibling galleries so they can buy 1 package to include all of their pictures. I would love to know what others do about this.

Coming Soon: Auto-Attached Abandoned Cart Campaigns

Big update on the way that's going to save you time and drive more revenue. We're rolling out auto-attached abandoned cart campaigns across the Captura ecosystem. That means every job you create will automatically have follow-up campaigns running from day one. No setup, no extra steps, no gaps. Here's why this matters: jobs with campaigns attached see about 20% higher average order value. But right now, 38% of galleries don't have a campaign attached. Not because the strategy isn't there, but because it's easy to miss a step when things get busy. This update removes that gap entirely. Every job covered. Every parent followed up with. Every opportunity captured. Read the full blog post for more details. Questions? Reach out at studiomarketing@captura.io or connect with your marketing strategist. We're here to help.
