A Gift from my SPAC 2026 Lecture
Summary: In a discussion initiated by Eric Leszkowicz, Eric Leszkowicz emphasizes the importance of a well-setup Google Business Profile (GBP) and warns against setting an excessively large service area, suggesting a radius of 1.5 to 2 hours maximum. Kelly Doherty (Captura), Kelly Doherty, highlights the benefits of a GBP in building trust and credibility, and shares resources on getting more reviews, additionally noting Captura's services for automating review requests. Eric responds, stressing the importance of including all clients in review requests to avoid issues with Google suspending GBPs for biased reviews. Other participants, such as Mark Quintilio (Captura), Helina Medhin (Captura), and Lucy Richards, express gratitude and appreciation for the shared insights regarding GBP setup.
While your Google Business Profile might have a variety of value depending on the work you do, it take very little effort to set it up well.
If you haven't set your GBP up in the last year or so I recommend double checking it with this checklist.

NOTE: THE biggest mistake you might make is setting your service area too large. TWO HOUR max driving radius (we recommend 1.5 hours). Google is cracking down on this to prevent people from trying to capture searches from areas larger than they serve.

·8 months agoEric - Thanks for sharing this! This is great info. Having a Google Business profile may go overlooked but it can help parents find studios locally plus it builds trust and credibility with new customers. Here are a few additional resources that I found from Google regarding getting more reviews:
Google's guide on getting more reviews
How to generate your unique review link
And for those who didn't know - Captura can help drive reviews by setting up post-purchase emails that ask happy customers to leave a review. Just reach out to marketing if you want to get this set up!

OP8 months agoYou are right - super important.
One thing Google has emphasized recently is its stand on review gating.
You cannot ask just your best clients to leave a review. I am incoporating an email to all clients inside my captura marketing this year to increase my reviews.
Google may actually step in an suspend a GBP that gets all 5 star reviews...crazy as it sounds.
