Tying ID card printing to Groups

Is there any way to tie the ID card printed for a subject to the group they're in, without having to select the specific ID? This is for photographing and printing on site. Some of our schools are implementing more and more ID options for students (depending on their student status), so for our new photographers, we're trying to think of ways to make it easier for them and avoid any mistakes.

Wording for a sign

Get your creative juices flowing this holiday weekend! I need some help for wording on a sign in our studio. We've had an uptick in issues with parents taking pictures of their child - and of the Workflow screen during Capture - when they accompany their seniors to the senior photo session. Part of it is probably our fault, since we've really encouraged parents to attend as part of capturing the memories of the senior year. Sessions are scheduled, and roughly a quarter to a third have a parent along. We have one that says: "Please: No cell phones during Senior Yearbook Session." Obviously that isn't working. In my mind I'd like for the sign to say: "Respect that this is an art form, stop stealing photos, and put your #$*% cell phone away!" So probably somewhere in between - thoughts?!

Alternative's to Flow's "Mr. Gray"
For anyone out there who has recently switched to Captura from Flow, what are you using as an alternative to the "Mr. Gray" feature. How are you ensuring proper consistent exposures across multiple stations? Are there any stand alone programs available, apps or are we back to good olé' light meters? Thanks!

What tethering software do you use?
We shoot tethered with Nikon camera. In years past we used the software "Control My Nikon" to send images from camera to the Hotfolder. We switched from that a year or so ago due to white balance/coloring issues we couldn't solve. The software we use now is "NX Tether" by Nikon. This works great except when it unexpectedly just shuts down or disconnects from the camera. I haven't been able to figure out why this happens. I cannot detect a pattern to when this happens. Sometimes it works great for a whole shoot....and sometimes it will shut down multiple times during a shoot. When it shuts down and is then restarted it adds corrupted images to Workflow which have to be removed or Workflow will not sync. Has anyone else encountered this with NX Tether? Does anyone else use Nikon? If so, what software do you use?

Sports Background Extractions

We are thinking of knocking out the sports individual photos next year and offering different background options. What have other studios done for this? Any insight would be helpful. I'm currently trying to evaluate these things: Full body extractions looking weird Making new memory mates with knocked out photo and normal team photo Reteaching photographers how to shoot sports photos

Industry News 📰 Fujifilm Named as One of TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies of 2026
Interesting discussion for the community: Fujifilm was just named one of TIME’s “100 Most Influential Companies” of 2026 — and part of the reason was the massive popularity of Instax and nostalgic photography experiences. ( PetaPixel article ) It feels like clients are craving more authentic, tangible experiences again — printed photos, candid moments, film-inspired edits, etc. Are you seeing this a bit more with Senior portraits and Sports photography? Do you think people are shifting away from overly polished content and wanting something that feels more real?

Camera and Lens choices
Just curious what people are using as far as cameras and lenses. My studio is expanding quickly and I am in the market to buy a few more cameras and lenses this summer. It is my first year as a studio owner, and I am learning a lot! Also curious what brand of lights are being used? I have Godox SK400IIv, they are decent, but I'd love to hear what you all are using and love. Thanks!!

What is the best way to handle free staff photos at schools? Or deals for coaches?
Hello, I would like to give teachers and staff free/discounted photos. At minimum a free digital file for their school ID but also perhaps some options for them to order prints. I don't know how this would work in a job mixed with the students. I might try just creating a separate job that has all the staff photos for the year in it and then separate each school into groups so then the job could have it's own price sheet. What do you recommend I do? Thank you!

Cap Insert for larger hair styles
