Sony Scan & Tag System - Thoughts?

We switched to all Sony cameras this year and are looking at possibly testing out the Sony Scan & Tag system this summer to potentially implement starting next school year. I am wondering if it would truly be more efficient or just create a different set of workflow problems.
To anyone currently using this capture method: has it been beneficial and actually saved time? If so, does it save time primarily on the shoot, or in post-production, or both? What are some pros and cons you have noticed?
Any thoughts in advance would be helpful to know going into testing!

·8 months agoWe shoot tethered with multiple Sony A7IV's on our jobs using the Sony Imaging Edge Desktop program. We print out a barcode for each subject we will be photographing and utilize a barcode scanner to connect to their profile in Captura.

·8 months agoHave you ever compared that program to, say, Captura One?
I don't mind using the manufacturer's program simply for capture because usually you're not paying a license fee, but some of them I have tried have been very insufficient.

·8 months agoI love it so much that I have engaged with their sales rep, and they are sending me some sample cameras to test out. I love the most is that you can add a one-month subscription to the software, which is really handy in the event that you need to rent a camera or two to expand for a larger shoot.

·8 months agoAlso interested in this! From my research it's only compatible with a limited amount of camera models. Not with the A7IV which we have. Would love to know how it works in practice as it seems a little slow from their promotional video. But if this method is beneficial we might consider if upgrading in the future.
