Ability to Quick Edit holding orders for fulfilment on multiple jobs
Summary: Nicole Michelotti expressed the need for a more efficient way to manage job settings related to holding for manual release within the Captura Workflow system. Currently, checking and updating hold statuses requires opening each job individually, which is time-consuming. Felecia McGowian (Captura) acknowledged the issue and suggested using Stage Templates to streamline the process, while also relaying the feedback to the product team for potential enhancements. Nicole Michelotti appreciated the offer for personalized help and expressed interest in scheduling a session to optimize their current setup.
I am at the point where I want all of my jobs to have the same settings as far as holding for manual release. It would be super helpful if I could view the holding status of each job on the main 'Jobs' screen, as well as be able to select multiple jobs and change the hold fulfilment for manual release (along with the other options below that to hold bulk or ship to home orders and digital downloads). I hope this makes sense!
Right now I have to go into each job individually and check up on the status or holding or releasing, it's becoming time consuming. Thank you!!

·3 months agoHi there,
Thanks for calling this out, you’re absolutely right. When you’re managing a high volume of jobs, having to open each one to check or update hold settings adds up quickly. That’s real-time lost in your workflow.
What you’re seeing today is expected behavior since hold settings are managed at the individual job level in Captura Workflow, the heart of the Captura ecosystem. That said, your point about visibility and bulk updates is a strong one. Being able to manage hold status directly from the main Jobs view would save time and reduce the risk of mistakes. I’ve shared this with our Product team so we can evaluate it further.
In the meantime, one approach that can help streamline this is using Stages within Workflow. Studios often use stages to control:
When orders are held for manual release
Pre-order vs. post-order timing
When carts are active or paused
You can create a Stage Template with your preferred settings and apply it across jobs. It won’t give you bulk editing from the Jobs screen, but it does help create consistency and reduce setup time moving forward.
Here’s a quick guide if you want to explore that setup: https://support.captura.io/en/articles/6642049
You’re also spot on about the visibility gap. This is a great example of where a small change could make a big impact on your day-to-day.
If it’s helpful, I’m happy to take a look at your current setup with you and see where we can simplify things in the meantime.

That would be great! I'd love to schedule something to have you or someone go through my current jobs and set up and help me find ways to make things smoother for next year.
