Group Print Templates - Ability to Bulk Print in Jobs
Summary: Ashlynn Chaves shared their process for creating complimentary "Principal Albums" containing class group photos using a print template. The current method is time-consuming, as it requires downloading data for each group individually. They suggested an improvement: allowing bulk printing of group photos with a specific template, which could expedite the process. Hailee Stewart (Captura) proposed using a Bulk Add Order method to streamline the process, but Ashlynn Chaves realized it wouldn't suit their needs. Instead, they require a method combining exportation with image renaming and the print job feature for their specific requirements. Hailee Stewart (Captura) acknowledged this and mentioned there is a feature request in progress, adding Ashlynn Chaves's name to it.
Background: We provide a complimentary "Principal Album" to each school containing their class group photos with a nice border labeled with the teacher's name, which is pulled from subject data. Currently to "print" these group photos onto the border, we have to go to a subject in each group and download it from the subject using the Print Template we have set up. Since most of our schools have 20-35 classes and we have to go into each group individually, this often takes a while.
Request: What would be amazing is if in the Job we could go to Tools > Print Job > choose our group border template and be able to print just one group photo per group instead of a group photo for every single subject in the job. I understand this may not be possible due to the print template pulling from the subject data, but it would immensely speed up our post-production in the spring!
Does anyone else do something similar with group borders? And if so, have you found an easier way to get around this?

·2 months agoWe export our images and build a principals album in ROES so I think I may know what you are trying to do. We have a Group Card group, that contains all the homeroom teacher subjects, where we print QR codes for our photographers to use so they can be imported into Captura easily. We order our teacher copies and export our print templates for the principals albums using this group. We also have groups for all the homerooms with their students and pull the group image into there also. It's a little extra work but in the long run makes things easier on the production side.

Admin3 months agoHey Ashlynn,
Have you considered using a Bulk Add Order for this? You can leverage the teacher’s subject records, provided the teachers are assigned to their appropriate "group" record.
For existing jobs, you can merge this data in if it’s currently missing. For future jobs, just ensure these records are included in your data prior to importing.
To configure this:
Pricesheet: Add a "hidden" group to your pricesheet with a price of $0.
Execution: Go to the Job Orders tab → Tools → Bulk Add Orders.
Filter: Filter by those teacher records
If you would like some help from the team on this, feel free to schedule a meeting here:

OP3 months agoUnfortunately for what we need it for the Bulk Add Order process doesn't really work for us. I had actually tried something similar to that before settling on how we do it now!
What we need is essentially a combination of exporting, with the ability to rename the images however we specify (for example [grade]--[group name]), and the Print Job feature, with the ability to populate a subject's info and group photo onto a MyDesign product.

Admin3 months agoHi Ashlyn,
Sorry to hear this does not work for you. We have a feature request in for this. I will add your name to the request.
