Schedule Job Launches: Automate First Email/SMS for Better Timing and Efficiency
Summary: Eric Leszkowicz, Eric Leszkowicz, identified a problem with the current process for launching jobs, where emails or SMS messages need to be sent manually, often at inconvenient times. He suggested a feature to schedule job launches with a calendar picker to automate the timing of sending messages. This idea received support from several participants, including Helina Medhin and Adrian Stewart, who agreed it would prevent off-hours work and improve timing. Whitney Thatcher and Jessica Ferguson also expressed their enthusiasm and support for this scheduling feature.
The Problem: Most users launch jobs manually via email or SMS, but the "ready" moment often doesn't match the ideal "go-live" time. This forces us to set alarms or delay launches, leading to rushed sends or missed opportunities.
Real-World Example: I had a school job ready to launch, but the football team was heading to playoffs—no one wants picture orders during game travel hype! Instead of launching mid-week, I had to wake up early Saturday to hit send manually. This isn't just inconvenient; it risks lower engagement if timed poorly.
Requested Feature: Add a simple scheduling option when launching jobs: allow the setting of a specific date/time for the first email/SMS to auto-send. Integrate it into the existing launch workflow—perhaps a calendar picker next to the send button.

·2 months agoYou could always duplicate a marketing campaign and set up the specific dates and times in the marketing. I have one set up to send on specific dates and times so it does not have to sent manually. If you have access to "Marketing Admin" you can manipulate them to do just about anything. Being more of a hands on person who likes to do things themselves because I can understand my brain more than others, I ouldn't tell you the last time I reached out to Captura to edit an internal campaign.

·2 months agoLuckily, we have not ran into this issue yet. I can definitely see it happening though and would love to see this be a thing! I do wish we had a little more control of our marketing and the scheduling of it.

OP2 months agoI was coming in here to say how much I love this idea and then I realized I had posted it.
Need more coffee. But I do still LOVE this idea.
Right now I would put it as my #1 request.

·6 months agoI agree with this. If we could manually schedule a time to release the email/SMS messages for a job that would save a lot of us from having to do another thing "off the clock"
Great Idea Eric!
