Retake day - Giving customer the option to 'prepay' in shopping cart

It would be so great to be able to let the customers who have not ordered yet prepay for their photos while using the same shopping cart link for the school. Kind of like how we can choose to enter a prepay vs a full order on our side, allow the customer to choose if they want to prepay for their retake photo. This way we wouldn't have to switch the whole job to prepay and the customers who are happy with their photos can continue to order while the ones with no image yet could enter a preorder.

If you are happy to have two jobs running in parallel for a single school? If yes, this is absolutely achievable; the exact setup would vary depending on your existing setup and desires.
If you want to provide me with a few more insights, I can propose more specific options for you.
Q1. Pre-pay shipping, what would this look like? Ship to school always or only for part of the time etc?
Q2. Are you at any time holding orders for bulk processing for both pre-pay and proofing?
Q3. Would the pre-pay orders only be fulfilled with the primary images?
Q4... bonus info you think might be useful.

We usually ship prepay orders to the school, then switch it over to ship to home after picture day. Retake day we do the same - ship to school for prepay orders then switch to ship to home. Right now we do most schools with 2 separate jobs for original and retake day, then I combine the orders from retake day to the main job and we use that to photograph the retakes.
I always hold bulk orders.
Yes the prepay orders are only fulfilled with the primary images.
What I am trying to get at here is that ideally we would like to keep the same shopping cart link for both original and retake day, while not having to shut off the post picture day proof ordering.

·1 week agoI would also be very interested in hearing the results of this test. This is one of our biggest struggles with getting parents to understand the ordering process with retakes, so having a way to have both pre-order and proofing orders happen at the same time would be amazing.
