6th Grade Promotion Certificates create/ Captura
Summary: Brenda Ficco has a question about the workflow for creating 6th Grade Promotional Certificates. They heard at a recent Captura workflow event in Vegas about using Canva to create certificates, importing them to InDesign, and then organizing them for printing in Captura. Brenda Ficco is seeking detailed steps on this process. Hailee Stewart (Captura), representing Captura, hopes other studios will share their approaches and mentions that the Support team is ready to assist Brenda Ficco further.
I have a quick question about the 6th Grade Promotional Certificates. At the recent Captura workflow in Vegas, I heard that one of you mentioned creating the certificates in Canva, putting in InDesign then finishing grouping them in Captura for printing.
Could you share how you’re doing that workflow? Specifically, I’m wondering:
How you’re creating the certificates in Canva
How you’re bringing them into InDesign
How you’re grouping or organizing them with your 6th grade class for printing
Thank you!

• What you are going to do is create the artwork portion of your certificate in Canva (or Photoshop or any other design application you want to use).
• For the next step, I think that you actually mean to say "My Designs" in Workflow, where you will create a product to whatever specifications you need (8x10, 5x7, etc) for your certificate and you will utilize the artwork created in the first step as either your background, or as foreground (must be a PNG) if you need to layer a background behind an extracted photo. You can then place and populate the fields of the certificate from data already in Workflow (Name, School, Year etc.) and place in the image as well.
• Set this My Design product up as a print template in your job, and do the grouping and sorting as needed when printing the batch if you are fulfilling in house. Or set it up as a non-visable product in your price list if you need to place a batch order from your lab for printing.
Here's a sample of one of our certificates as it looks in My Design.

Hopefully, one of the other studios will jump in and share how they approach this. In the meantime, our Support team is looking forward to meeting with you and helping you get everything sorted.
