People using AI to get rid of Watermarks
I just found out that parents and students are using AI to remove our Watermarks, and then just stealing the images.
Is there anything can can be done from a technical standpoint to prevent this from happening?

AdminAug 9, 2026 at 11:06 PMHi, I sympathize, it is incredibly frustrating as a business owner to see grown adults online, trying to find ways to steal images, and yes, AI has made it easier.
What we do know is that AI has a harder time removing watermarks with a gradient of colors, and it tends to leave patchy evidence.
I would suggest using a gradient watermark and adding the dynamic lines or triangles offered in the cart templates. Unfortunately, we won't ever be able to stop people determined to do the wrong thing from trying, but we are working to make it difficult for them.

·1 week agoGemini does a good job refusing to remove watermarks from clearly copyrighted images. Unfortunately many others including ChatGBT aren't so ethical. ChatGBT is removing both the dynamic lines and triangles as well as our watermark. Is anything new coming soon? WaldoPro has an interesting solution called FaceBlocker that only lets the customer see the subjects face, or the rest of the image, but not both at the same time. It seems like we are going to need something more dynamic along those lines to prevent stealing of images.
