Dynamic Display Images are coming to Workflow!
This fall, you’ll be able to show parents personalized product previews in your shop — their own photo rendered on your prints, canvases, and packages instead of generic placeholders!

Why it matters
When shoppers immediately see their image on a product, they understand what they’re buying faster, feel more confident, and are more likely to purchase.
What’s coming
Dynamic display images let you assign a Designer template to products and packages on your price sheet. Once a shopper selects a photo, that image appears in your design across Shop All and Quick View.
Get ahead of the curve - Start in Designer today

There’s a setup involved — before you get the benefit you’ll be creating your display templates in Designer, then assigning them on your price sheets once that configuration is live. Build the display templates you want to use — framed 8×10s, canvas mockups, package layouts, and more — with image nodes positioned where the shopper’s photo should appear. When price sheet assignment rolls out, you’ll be able to connect those designs to the right products in just a few clicks.
Captura is here to help

·1 week agoDoes this feature work only if the primary images have backgrounds?
Ex: I tested a job and did BACKGROUND EXTRACTION w/ AI Edit. I created my dynamic images and applied a background set to my price sheet.
However when I go to the online SHOP, my subject image is there in the package display however there is NO BACKGROUND in the image. The subject is just there with a transparent background.
My jobs won't go live until 8/12, but is there a way to correct this?
Edit** - Also, eventhough the background options are on the correct price sheet, for some reason my background options are not showing on the SHOP, so maybe this could be the reason.
David Tyson
OP6 days agoBrian - This is likely related to your backgrounds not showing in the Shop. Is the Job setup as a greenscreen?
The Dynamic Display will include a background and not a floating .png as long as your job is set as greenscreen and the connected Price Sheet has backgrounds. If the shopper has not selected a background from the My Photos page, then the first available background will be used for the Dynamic Display Image.

Admin3 days agoHi @Brian Jones just to add to add to Davids reply you would also want to ensure inside the design in Designer that the check box for - Disable Background Selection is not ticked.
Having said that, I am aware some studio are expereincing an issue with backgrounds displaying and that is currently with our developers working on a fix, you may be an impacted customer if you have done everything else right. I expect a fix to roll out for this pretty soon.

·3 weeks agoWill there be an option to display group photos in the nodes as well? This would be great for my Sports price sheets if so!
David Tyson
OP3 weeks agoYep! The dynamic display images respect the image node mapping that is used on the applied design. So, yes, you can display group photos, too!
Sports T&C
·3 weeks agoThanks for the response!
One more question- how would these images populate during the Pre-Order stage? Would anything show up?
David Tyson
OP3 weeks agoIn summary, during pre-order, the shop shows your custom display image if one is uploaded, or your catalog default / system placeholder if a custom image is not available.
The shop uses the following priority when rendering a dynamic display image:
Selected image — If the shopper chose a specific photo (for example, by clicking Buy Photo from My Photos), that image is used.
Primary image — If no image is selected, the subject’s primary image is used.
Fallback — If no suitable shopper image is available, the shop falls back to your custom or default display image instead of rendering dynamically.
