The Multi Child Discount Challenge
How does everyone handle the situation where you would like to offer discounts for second, third, and fourth children in the same household?
Outside of sending individualized discount codes, I'm not sure what the best option would be?

·3 months agoThis spring I had a school ask for the same thing. I ended up figuring out an average order for that school along with the smallest thing they can buy. Then gave percentage discounts at different levels. Like 15% at $35. 20% at $55 and 25% at $75. I had a short deadline on it. It made them happy. Before that. Nobody bought anything.

OP3 months agoI don't see this as much of a friction with clients as it is an opportunity to sell and point out that it is an advantage we offer.
But just thinking about it from a programming standpoint, I can't see how this works.

·3 months agoWe offer a "sibling discount" code in our proofing emails. 12% off orders of $130 +
Technically anyone could use the code if they meet the order threshold but most orders for single students do not meet the threshold. And I've only seen it used once on a single student order.

Admin4 months agoIt is definitely a difficult challenge to solve!
I have seen some studio's combine sibling galleries to manage this, however it can add complexity if you also supply exports to schools for things like yearbook pose. It can mean double up of jobs for service items verse selling.
We also see some studios generate coupons for siblings in advance and it gets managed by customer support to provide those if families call to claim them.
My personal preference is to not reward per child per household, this feels unfair to those single child families, says this mother of four haha. I prefer instead to reward shoppers who simply spend well!
When they reach over certain thresholds, regardless of how many subjects there are, then discounts apply. At the end of the day this is easier to manage in the cart and serves all families regardless of how many children they do or do not have, it just rewards good spenders.

·3 months agoA wise person in the industry once told me this, "You gotta buy 4 pairs of new school shoes for regular price at the shoe store" so why should we discount our product?
With that said, I will do this on league sports jobs if they call us..

·3 months agoBegging GP for this for 5+ years now. We don't have a choice here in Socal with league buy. Hopefully something comes soon.
